Oakwood Cottage is a lovely spacious dog-friendly cottage in Shropshire sitting on a quiet spot in the village with no passing traffic. This homely cottage has footpaths from the door onto the Shropshire Way and there is also a hardstanding mile-long footpath to the village pub. The cottage sleeps four people and we welcome two dogs. The large garden has secure 6ft fencing for your dog to play in. There is safe parking for two cars only. On Wednesday evenings, the village is alive with the delightful sound of church bells as the beautiful St. John’s Church has their bell-ringing practice night.
Oakwood is central for Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Wales. There are many places to visit, such as the world famous Ironbridge and nine National Trust houses and gardens. For the walkers, there are walks from the door onto the Shropshire Way including a one-mile footpath to the village pub. We are fortunate to live close by to a wonderful nature reserve with woodland walks and the award-winning canalside village of Audlem with its circular walks and tearooms. Whitchurch, our nearest town, is lovely and home to many shops including Tesco and Sainsbury’s, both of whom deliver to the cottage.
Kitchen
A lovely country kitchen which is fully equipped. There is a microwave, fridge with small freezer, toaster, kettle and slow cooker. There is a side door which leads out into the garden and patio.
Lounge-Diner
A spacious lounge with a lovely bay window overlooking the front lawn and bird feeders. The dining table seats four people and there is comfortable seating for watching the 43″ smart TV. The cosy woodburner will be made up on arrival with a starter pack of sticks and logs. There are two large rugs on the floor.
Bedroom One
A lovely light room with French doors leading onto the patio and lawn. There is a very comfortable king-size bed and a triple wardrobe to store your holiday clothes. Quality bedding is supplied as well as Egyptian towels. Fully carpeted.
The cottage is rural but only 10 minutes away from the canalside village of Audlem. Nantwich and Whitchurch are lovely towns for shopping and eating. Brown Moss nature reserve has woodland walks and is perfect for bird spotting. The White Lion dog-friendly pub is community-owned with a walking trail to Brown Moss. Spice Heaven Indian restaurant will deliver to the cottage.
Bedroom Two
Another light and airy room with two full-size single beds. There is a country dresssing table and wardrobe with views over the garden. Quality bedding is supplied with Egyptian towels. Fully carpeted.
Family Bathroom
A spacious bathroom with a full-size bath, perfect for a soak after a long country walk. There is also a WC and a wash basin in this room.
En-Suite
Bedroom one has an en-suite with a shower cubicle, wash basin, WC and shaver point.

Garden
Large private garden with trees, shrubs and 6ft fencing, so it’s safe and secure for children and dogs. Garden furniture is added during the spring and summer months – perfect for al fresco dining.
Parking
There are two private safe parking spaces in front of Oakwood.
Dogs
We love dogs and allow two to stay in Oakwood (sorry, no puppies). The cottage’s garden is perfect for your dog to let off steam. There is a pleasant walk down to our village pub via a one mile footpath which is hardstanding and so no muddy paws. There are also walks from the door onto the Shropshire way and a 15 minute circular village walk for the elderly dog. We provide a dog bowl, towels and treats, but please don’t allow your dog on the beds and sofas or leave them unattended.

The cottage is on a fast fibre network.
